Licensing

Articles published in Al-Muhafidz are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Certain third-party material is excluded from this license, as identified in the credit lines.

1. Permitted Use
Under this license, anyone may copy, share, redistribute, translate, adapt, and build upon the licensed material in any medium, including for commercial purposes. This includes use for teaching and text and data mining. Adaptations do not have to be released under the same license.

No additional permission from the journal and no reuse fee is required for uses that CC BY 4.0 already allows.

2. Attribution and Conditions
Users must:

  • give appropriate credit and keep the existing attribution, copyright, and license notices;
  • include a link to CC BY 4.0 and indicate any changes made, keeping notes of earlier modifications;
  • provide the article citation and the DOI or source link, where this is reasonably practicable;
  • avoid implying that the authors, the journal, or the publisher endorse their use;
  • avoid imposing legal terms or technical restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

Attribution may be given in any reasonable way that suits the medium and context. This summary does not add any conditions beyond those of the license itself.

3. Scope and Continuity
Check the credit lines for third-party material, since it may be subject to separate terms. CC BY 4.0 does not automatically grant patent, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights that fall outside its scope. No permission is needed for uses that are independently allowed by a legal exception or where the material is in the public domain.

A valid license is not revoked simply because an article is corrected, retracted, or removed from the website. Users must continue to comply with the license conditions.

License information is shown on article pages and in the published files. Any article-specific license that has been verified must be displayed accurately. Updating the website does not automatically relicense earlier content.
