Post-Publication Discussion

Al-Muhafidz welcomes evidence-based discussion of published work. Readers may raise methodological questions, alternative interpretations, replication findings, or other substantive scholarly observations through the editorial office.

1. Submitting a Scholarly Comment
Send the following to the editorial office at almuhafidzjurnal@gmail.com:

  • the article title and DOI;
  • the specific issue you wish to raise;
  • your reasoning or evidence, along with relevant references;
  • any competing interests you have in relation to the article.

Keep your comment concise enough for a focused assessment.

Focus on the work itself rather than on the personal characteristics of its authors. Clearly distinguish between demonstrated errors, unresolved questions, and differences of interpretation. Do not include confidential information or details that could identify research participants unless they are strictly necessary.

2. Editorial Consideration and Author Response
Editors assess the relevance, clarity, and strength of the evidence in a comment, and how far it contributes to understanding the article. Authors may be invited to respond, and independent specialist advice may be sought where needed.

Inviting a response does not give authors control over whether a valid criticism is considered. Likewise, disagreement with an article does not automatically mean that a comment will be published.

Concerns raised on external scholarly platforms may also be examined once they are brought to the journal’s attention. A reporter does not need to secure publication of a commentary before a credible integrity concern is assessed.

3. Publication and Assessment Status
Where a comment is published, it will be clearly identified and linked to the original article, together with any reply. Correspondence that has been assessed editorially is not presented as having gone through standard external peer review.

A contribution submitted as a new research article follows the standard Review Model. Publication is not guaranteed, and no fixed publication timeline is promised.

The journal’s correspondence procedure does not restrict lawful public criticism of published work, or the reuse of CC BY 4.0 material outside the journal.
